April 2024 recap
April 2024 recap
We had been building up towards April since the inception of BlockGames, a time when the various parts of the Player Network come together
We had been building up towards April since the inception of BlockGames, a time when the various parts of the Player Network come together. It marked the launch and public listing of our much anticipated $BLOCK token. Everyone who journeyed alongside us through our roadmap will know the challenges and victories we’ve had along the way, and this marked a truly historic moment when BlockGames fully asserted itself as a key player in the Web3 gaming space. Such an event tends to overshadow all other events—but rest assured, plenty of other stuff happened in April here, too. Today we revisit the key events and landmarks in the BlockGames Player Network that made April so memorable.
The business model we’ve been building was fully substantiated by great metrics that surpassed our expectations. Following the public launch of the Rewarded Play App in January, BlockGames enjoyed rapid growth in terms of daily revenue per player. This metric showcases the strength of the Rewarded Play App service model and contributes to the long-term sustainability of the BlockGames Player Network protocol, powered by $BLOCK.
A million and more
Meanwhile, the number of Universal Player Profiles (UPPs) continued to grow. In just two months, the Rewarded Play App attracted droves of players seeking rewards and memorable in-game experiences, exploding in new sign-ups, and engagement across our partner games and social media. In just a few months, following the Rewarded Play App launch, the users within the BlockGames ecosystem topped 1M. This has facilitated hundreds of partner mobile games in finding and acquiring engaged users at scale while rewarding players for sharing their player data, in turn cementing BlockGames as a leading sustainable mobile game publishing ecosystem.
The launch of $BLOCK and CEX listings!
In the second week of April $BLOCK launched on three major centralized exchanges — OKX, ByBit, and KuCoin, and began trading publicly for the first time. $BLOCK also went live on Uniswap V2, a decentralized exchange, with $500,000 of liquidity in a locked pool. To celebrate the launch of $BLOCK on OKX, we dedicated a 5,000,000 $BLOCK token prize pool for participants who entered the launch contest and completed campaign-related tasks on the Rewarded Play App.
Rolling out a new roadmap
In April, we also announced the next part of our roadmap. As the BlockGames Player Network enters its next phase of growth, the five steps outlined above are already feeding through the pipeline. We’ll be revealing more about what each one means over the coming weeks and months. Ultimately, our number one aim is to support our community as we move forward together in pursuit of our mission to bring rewarded data ownership to billions of mobile gamers worldwide. With $BLOCK successfully launched, we continue to build the world’s number one mobile games publishing ecosystem and bring more great games and rewarded play to the masses.
Dice Infusion insights
Following community discussions and public votes, we finalized the Dice Infusion mechanics. At the time of the Token Generation Event (TGE), 50,000,000 $BLOCK had already been infused into all Dice NFTs based on their soft-staking during the Airdrop phase, minimum base infusion, and their multiplier traits. The Dice Infusion Dashboard, along with claiming functionality on the Universal Player Profile (UPP), will be launched in one month, with vesting starting at the time of the dashboard launch.
New Layer Zero Labs integration
BlockGames integrated Layer Zero Labs, an interoperability protocol, transforming BlockGames into an open and inclusive omnichain Player Network. This integration introduced two key enhancements: Universal Player Profiles (UPPs—on-chain player identities generated by the BlockGames Player Network), and $BLOCK token integration. LayerZero's integration into the $BLOCK token smart contract makes the token available across every supported blockchain, allowing users to make in-game purchases across different chains.
Final word
What we’ve discovered over the last month is that soul searching pays off, and good communication and understanding are paramount, in parallel to making decisions that ensure the sustainability of the whole product ecosystem. Following this challenging and ultimately successful period, we are moving forward with the development and implementation of new products and updates for our users and partner games. In short, we are proud of what we have achieved together so far, and are excited to reveal what the future holds for the BlockGames Player Network!
